City Planter // A Bench for FABA restaurant
A small urban intervention on a Mexico City street designed to provide shade and create habitat for the city while, during operating hours, offering a series of seats for FABA restaurant.
The system was conceived for rapid construction and flexible use: cut and bent steel plates, modular inserts, and individual benches that slide into place when needed. The wooden benches were developed in collaboration with Taller Batán.
Designing for adaptability is always central to our approach. As the city continuously evolves, elements must allow for changing uses - the planter belongs to the city, the benches to its current users.
